We have already entered the latest generation of computers, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in the development of nations, industries, and various sectors. Although AI is highly productive and capable of performing tasks more efficiently, the risk of errors still lingers in the human mind. This concern arises due to the lack of emotional intelligence in AI, something that humans possess but machines do not.
- The potential risk arising due to the excessive use and more efficient nature of Artificial Intelligence is that it is now eating out the jobs of people, especially from the most important sectors which may include teachers, doctors and creators. The employees of the automation and robotics industries are worst affected and these days their jobs are at risk, this is all due to the reason that Artificial Intelligence is now trained up to the level that it can work more efficiently and productively than humans.
- Artificial Intelligence has sparked the concerns and risk of job loss in the sectors which need high human interference and expertise and these sectors include medical science, teaching and creators. These sectors rely heavily on human expertise, human creativity and a high level of decision-making along with emotional intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence’s Impact on Doctors:
- It is already assisting doctors in diagnostics and treatment and even by conducting surgeries. Artificial Intelligence guide robotic surgeries and are much more precise and accurate with minimal human interventions, this may lead to short recovery time and high perfection.
- Though Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming medical care with helpful applications like disease & radio-diagnosis, monitoring and accurate reports but there is lot of apprehension when it comes to physical treatments & operations.
- Even with all these qualities Artificial Intelligence is lacking in the most important quality i.e. empathy and emotional intelligence along with moral and emotional support like a human doctor can provide to their patients.
So we can say that Artificial Intelligence can just assist but not replace a doctor as this profession needs a high amount of precision and along with it emotional support and trust are the important pillars which Artificial Intelligence cannot provide.
Artificial Intelligence’s Impact on Teachers:
- From mentorship to creativity and from handling administrative tasks to grading and even helping with important teaching assistance tools Artificial Intelligence has become an important part of the education imparting system.
- It can tell you important questions to prepare important assignments along with error-free content. It can suggest ways to perform a task and even it can code like humans.
- Even students nowadays are relying more on Artificial Intelligence than on basic intelligence. Even with all these facilities it cannot replace a teacher as they cannot motivate, inspire and understand emotions like a teacher, moreover, it cannot make interpersonal relationships like a teacher with students.
- Students suffering from disabilities like dyslexia or Alzheimer's disease can be identified only be helped and provided guidance only by teachers.
Artificial Intelligence’s Impact on Creatives:
- In the Creative sector, it can assist and design many new things along with best-of-the-market class strategies which can bypass human needs in this sector, most of the tools are now creating the best of content and can even detect errors more efficiently than humans.
- From editing videos to designing new strategies and even coding the domains it is serving the creative industry, but the main the main thing it is lacking is true artistic expression, the ability to convey emotions. So in this area, Artificial Intelligence is lacking.
How can India protect these jobs?
Even though Artificial Intelligence is slowly going to grab these jobs in India also but India can adopt a few things to at least protect these jobs:
- By Upskilling and Reskilling along with deep market research.
- By policy regulation
- By creating awareness for innovation.
- By focussing on decision-making and collaborating Artificial Intelligence and humans.
The Indian government can play an important role in creating policies to promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence while protecting jobs and making it necessary to upskill and reskill after some time so that the individuals in the above-said sectors are up to date.
It is important in these sectors that human emotions and their intelligence along with human touch are important and cannot be replaced by Artificial Intelligence. But it must be ensured that every professional must be upskilled.
Especially in the teaching sector basic decision-making and emotional intelligence are provided by humans only but teachers must be trained and made that much tech savvy that they can understand and create teaching methodologies using Artificial intelligence. So the focus of the teachers and creatives must be on decision-making and emotional intelligence.
