Congested traffic, long commuting hours, work pressure, economic stress, and weak enforcement together create a pressure cooker environment. Add to this poor driving discipline and a growing culture of dominance - where yielding is seen as weakness - and aggression becomes the default response. At the heart of road rage lies ego. In 1952, many students were <a href="http://www.un.org/en/events/motherlanguageday/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: windowtext;">shot</a> by police while demonstrating in defence of their language- <a href="http://www.omniglot.com/writing/bengali.htm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: windowtext;">Bengali</a> (also called Bangla) because these students wanted Bengali to be formally recognised as one of the two national languages in what was then Pakistan and is today Bangladesh.To mark this day, the anniversary of the tragedy is celebrated as <a href="http://www.unesco.org/new/en/international-mother-language-day/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: windowtext;">International Mother Language Day</a> on February 21 by UNESCO.
